Chapter 1.5: lileeGAMES
The mother and her son headed towards the car. As soon as he sat in the passenger seat, his phone started buzzing with the name "LILEE" on the screen.
Some things in life were inevitable; and some things in life come as soon as you need it. Truth is, his bestfriend, Lilee, is one of those things that just appears moments after thinking of her. Lilee had hair that outshined any girl he has ever met; or it could have just seemed that way, since she was his first love. They have been friends since kindergarten, and he experinced his first and last heartbreak in grade 9, when she batted her eyelashes as the words, "Connor, youre like a brother to me" left her perfectly pink lips.
"f*cking wh*re." his first words were when he heard those words. "why do I love her".
Of course, those were thoughts he didnt dare say out loud. Lilee was delicate and truth be told, half of the time she didnt realize what she was saying. She would blurt the most offensive string of words, with eyes that didnt match the vulgarity of them. He would do anything for her, but he cant quite put his finger on how she was able to trigger his most masculine instinct of protecting her. She needed him; just as much as he needed her, but just like any tragic love story, she puts herself in situation that tests his loyalty and love for her in the worst times possible. Here he was, with his mother, whom he hasnt seen in a decade, but he was willing to put it on hold to see exactly what Miss Lilee wanted.
Without so a flinch, he answered the call,
"Lilee..hey..nows not a good time, but are you okay? you need anything?"
His mother smirked as she realized what had just happened, and she exclaimed, "sweet boy, I need to make a phone call to Boss, its quite important. Talk to your dear friend and Ill be right with you." she offered.
"uh..right Mom. Just meet me back here," he started, confused on why she was walking away. His abandonment issues instinctly felt fear, so he followed her a bit before being interrupted by Lilee on the other end:
"I need you so bad right now. Can you please come see me?"
And just like that, his mom was nowhere to be found, he looked around while having only one thought in his mind;
